Meet Scorpion
The following details apply here. The tableau has seven columns. Scorpion on haoyogo.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations.
The initial seven columns
Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. Three cards remain in the stock. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. All cards in the last three columns are face up.
Check rank and suit together
Keep these points in mind. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades.
Move exposed groups
Here are the details for this mode. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule.
Only Kings fill empty space
A few details help explain this feature. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column.
Uncover another choice
A few details help explain this feature. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal.
Use the stock once
There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty.
Collect ordered runs
A few details help explain this feature. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.
Plan around blocked cards
Keep these points in mind. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
